Madu Joe Gadzama,Esq. hails from Lassa in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 2015 after first obtaining his Bachelor of Laws(LL.B) from the University of Reading, UK in June 2013before attending the Nigerian Law School, where he was awarded with Barrister at Law(B.L). He was the President of the Afro-Caribbean Society (ACS 2011/12) and a member of the Law Society at the University of Reading. He became an Arbitrator after gaining admission as an Associate (ACIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) in March 2015, and is currently the General-Manager of Janada International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (JICAM).In furtherance of his education, he attended the University of Warwick, UK and was awarded with Master of Laws(LL.M) in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation in November 2015. During his Masters program, he undertook other relevant courses e.g. International Corporate Finance, International Insolvency and Debt Restructuring, Corporate Social Responsibility, International Intellectual Property Law and International Commercial Arbitration. His dissertation scrutinized “the relationship between the Competence-Competence Doctrine and National Courts in Arbitration with a comparative study of the approach adopted in the UK, France, the US and Canada”.Madu has had the privilege of working with esteemed Senior Advocates of Nigeria; he has interned at K. T. Turaki & Co., Kanu G. Agabi & Associates and Adegboyega Awomolo & Associates, before undergoing his National Youth Service at the prestigious law firm of Wole Olanipekun & Co. Madu has developed into a lawyer who has a voracious appetite for the law and seeks to excel in this noble profession.
